Riverside Volkswagen Drivers Find The 2018 VW Passat For Sale in Corona
The 2018 Volkswagen Passat is a midsize sedan that is both affordable and practical. There’s plenty of space in the cabin and a nice set of standard features. You won’t get flamboyant styling with the Passat, but you will get a smooth ride and a quiet, sophisticated interior. There’s ample trunk space to store your stuff. Riverside Volkswagen drivers enjoy the precision engineering that goes into every Volkswagen vehicle. If you’re looking for a great daily driver that’s perfect for driving around town as well as for longer road trips, the 2018 Passat should be at the top of your shopping list.
Changes for 2018 include a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that has more power and gets better fuel economy than the outgoing 1.8-liter block. There’s a new GT trim level that gets a V6, 19-inch wheels and a lower sport suspension. Volkswagen extended its warranty for 2018; the Passat now gets a 6-year/72,000-mile warranty. You won’t find this type of warranty on most other midsize cars.
The Volkswagen Passat inspires reviewers, with Kelley Blue Book writing: “It's also one of the most enjoyable [midsize sedans] to drive, with confidence-inspiring driving dynamics at any speed that makes for a satisfying and relaxing driving experience. But despite its Germanic heritage, this particular Passat is built in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was designed for North American tastes and preferences. So it's roomy, practical and priced competitively against its more mainstream competitors like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord."
The 2018 Passat seats five and comes in six trims: S, R-Line, SE, SE with Technology, GT and SEL Premium. Front-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. All trim levels except the GT are equipped with a standard 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that puts out 174 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Optional on the SEL trim and standard on the GT is a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 280 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy for the 2018 VW Passat with the inline-4 engine is an EPA-estimated 23 mpg city/34 mpg highway, while the V6 engine returns 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway.*
The cabin is replete with high-quality materials. The 6.3-inch infotainment display is easy to use, and the smartphone integration is first rate. The front seats are extremely comfortable, but what makes the cabin really special is the incredible amount of space in the second row. The Passat has a total of nearly 118 cubic feet of interior space. There’s a lot of cargo space, too, with 16 cubic feet of trunk space.
Standard safety features include six airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control and a rearview camera. All models other than the S get blind-spot monitoring, emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert. These features are optional on the S.
