While the 1st Edition is rear-wheel drive, an all-wheel-drive model that generates 302 horsepower will be released later in 2021. This drive system will utilize a second electronic motor attached to the ID.4’s front wheels, allowing the vehicle to accelerate faster and send power where needed.
On the inside, drivers will love the up-to-date tech features and copious cargo space. Passengers will be impressed by the ID.4’s modern interior and ambient lighting. Cloth upholstery is standard, but buyers can choose the optional Statement package, which features leather seating, a massage function, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats with memory.
The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 comes with standard infotainment and connectivity features such as a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, voice recognition, a 5.3-inch reconfigurable digital gauge display and navigation. The Statement package upgrades the touchscreen to a 12-inch display.
Safety gear that comes standard includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control with a semi-autonomous mode is available.
